⚠️ Important info below! Can you pack diapers and other bulky items (jackets, blankets, bags) in the extra space in your car seat bag?? YES, but… Some passengers have reported that some airlines are starting to crack down on this at the ticket counter! I do not recommend putting valuables in the car seat bag! If gate checking the car seat bag with extra items inside, be aware you may have to take these items out at TSA to be checked. DISCLAIMER: Personally, I have never had an issue doing this. We have always packed diapers and heavy jackets in the car seat bag to save space. However, ultimately the decision to inspect a bag is up the airline! If you plan to use a car seat on board the airplane, you could be granted a FREE seat for your baby (<2 years)! 🙌🏼 HERE’S HOW: ✈️ When you arrive at your departure gate, ask the gate agent if there are any extra seats on board. ✈️ If yes, ask if you would be able to occupy one one those seats for your baby to use the car seat. This is completely up to the gate agent and airplane crew - it is not guaranteed! ✈️ This may result in moving your seat! ✈️ If there are no extra seats and/or you choose not to use the car seat in board, you will have the option to gate check the car seat.
